I enjoyed the classes with Mohamed Megahed from Yalla Araby very much and I especially appreciated his enthusiasm and passion for the language. An example for this was Mohamed insisting to read a poem although I am still at a very beginner level. But as he predicted, this proved to be a very stimulating and useful exercise. There were a number of new words in this poem, which I have not forgotten since and hopefully I never will.

Yalla Araby offers high-quality Arabic lessons. The teachers have a profound knowledge of Arabic linguistics. This enables me not only to learn the language, but also to understand its origins and its impact. Historical information is also incorporated into the lessons, which enriches my learning experience. The teachers provide a variety of learning methods, such as selected teaching aids, material to promote listening and reading comprehension, always with reference to the everyday context. The combination of these different learning channels helps me to better anchor what I have learned. Yalla Araby's lessons are tailored to the individual needs of the students. Mohamed manages to meet his students where they are, with their learning level and their personality. This makes Yalla Araby unique! He creates a relaxed and pleasant learning atmosphere. And the most important thing: Where there is laughter, there is learning: I experience this in every single lesson! Thank you very much Yalla Araby!

For the first time I dared speaking Arabic in autumn 2018 in Cairo, after almost a year of lessons and learning in Bern. I was so happy with the teachers' professional, yet personal approaches, and the smooth organization of the classes. They gave me the safe space, which I still need, because learning Arabic is somehow embarrassing for me, unlike other foreign languages, Egyptian Arabic is the language of my identity. That is why I am so grateful to Mohamed Megahed and Yalla Araby for not only teaching me the grammar, but also answering my questions about the historical and social background of this language, and being patient and strict at the same time, shukran giddan 'Yalla Araby'.

I highly recommend Mohamed's language classes. Having studied standard Arabic over ten years ago, Mohamed managed to get me up to speed very quickly and seamlessly built up on my level. He uses an efficient and enjoyable teaching method, using a lot of repetitions, which was very well adapted to my needs. This way, I progressed quickly and stayed motivated throughout. Our face-to-face lessons took place online which were, despite the challenges of a virtual environment, always very pleasant and productive.

What I appreciate the most is Mohamed's passion for the Arabic language. I enjoy his deep understanding for the subtleties, the finesse and the secrets of the language, for how the vocabulary is interconnected and how the words interact with each other. I like how he perceives the Arabic language as a way to frame the world and change usual point of view to look at things. It is amazing how he is able to guide a non-native speaker through all of this and to lead him into a deeper understanding of the language. But he never gets lost in these excursions into the depth of the language, because he is clear and structured in the way he teaches, in giving explanations and in separating the essential from the marginal. Mix all of this with a very Egyptian humor and easy going attitude and you get a great immersion into Arabic language and culture.

I was working with Mohamed from Yalla Araby during my PhD research program. I had to read two old XVI century Arabic manuscripts and I needed some assistance in doing so, which was really helpful. During our meetings, he helped me to read the manuscripts, to retrace the meaning of words and sentences explaining me all difficult passages we found both, in prose and poetry. I learned a lot from his wide knowledge of Arabic language both ancient and modern. During the classes, he was really patient, serious, professional and always very nice. I really recommend Mohamed and Yalla Araby for all levels of Arabic from elementary to advanced.

Mohamed from Yalla Araby is the most energetic language teacher I've ever had! This translated into a very dynamic way of teaching, with lots of humor and anecdotes about Egypt and the Arabic culture. He manages to teach even the most complex language aspects (of which there are many in Arabic) in a way that is actually fun. Furthermore, he has a perfect mix of being laid back and strict. I would highly recommend Mohamed and Yalla Araby to anyone who wants to learn Arabic!

Yalla Araby is a very professional language school. My teacher is always well prepared for classes. He explains the logic and roots of the language in a comprehensive manner without getting lost into grammatical details and comes up with proposals according to the student's preferences (e.g. newspaper texts, audio/video material). He knows how to challenge and motivate his students, but remains always patient and flexible. Finally, he is a very pleasant and reliable person, always in good humor, open to the students' wishes and needs. Having regularly taken private classes with him during almost two years, I can highly recommend Mohamed Megahed and his school.

Yalla Araby uses a wide range of teaching tools, so I learn not only to read and write, but also to speak and understand the Egyptian dialect. The lessons are varied and adapted to students' needs and interests. After a long experience studying Modern Standard Arabic, I was very pleased to find an excellent and highly motivated teacher at Yalla Araby.

Our children, aged 11 and 14, have made enormous progress since starting weekly Arabic lessons. They improved their pronunciation and vocabulary, overcame their inhibitions and became more confident using Arabic. The lessons brought them closer not only to the language, but also to the cultures of different Arab countries. It was especially important to us that they learn everyday language and expressions normally acquired while growing up in an Arab country, and this was achieved successfully.

Arabic lessons with Mohamed Megahed from Yalla Araby are really enjoyable. He focuses competently on linguistic issues while also developing the cultural aspects connected to this wonderful language. His passion for Arabic and its idiosyncrasies is highly contagious, and he strikes a perfect balance between challenging me and showing patience when I struggle with the language.

Our teacher at Yalla Araby is very patient and does not hesitate to repeat things when he sees that we have not understood. He adapts the lessons to our level and rhythm while encouraging us to move forward. He corrects our pronunciation, which I really appreciate, and uses homework to assess whether we understood the lesson. The lessons are never boring!
